I’m Lynette Eason and I want to say welcome to the hunt. I write Romantic Suspense. My latest series involves an arsonist, a determined fire marshal and a relentless FBI agent. Feel free to sign up for my newsletter to stay up to date on everything I’m doing. My newsletters are fun and infromative. AND every month, I give away a FREE READ! Yep, that’s right. Every month I share a free story (could be a novella or a short story and sometimes it’s a full length novel!) from one of my author friends. I talk about books and reading and share a little about my personal life and what God is doing in it as well. I’d love for you to join in the fun. You can sign up here: Sign up for Lynette’s newsletter. When you sign up, you’ll get a welcome email with a personal letter from me. AND you’ll be able to download a copy of THE OTHER BROTHER, a short story that I think you’ll enjoy if you like a fast read.

Here’s a little of what it’s about:

Six half-siblings who are strangers, millions of dollars, a dead man and a will. What could go wrong?
Addy Manning has just discovered she’s the daughter of millionaire, Richard Manning, and that she has five half-siblings. She’s been notified that in order to inherit her share, she must attend the funeral and stay in the creepy mansion to get to know her brothers and sisters. Detective Rhys Beckett is there to arrest one of them for kidnapping—or possibly murder. But when someone starts killing off the siblings, Rhys and Addy find themselves in the fight of their lives to stay alive.

And now on to some fact that I learned when I was writing Serial Burn.

Arson isn’t just a crime against property, it’s a dangerous act that claims lives and devastates communities every year. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), intentional fires cause hundreds of civilian deaths annually and result in thousands of injuries and billions of dollars in property damage. The FBI estimates that nearly 13% of all fires are deliberately set, making arson a significant public safety concern. At the time of this blog post, the Table Rock fires are now contained, but for days, they burned out of control about thirty miles from my house. It was a horrific scene and many people have had to evacuate. Four teenagers are accused of starting the Table Rock State Park fire on March 21. At first, it was stated it was negligent behavior. Later, it was reported that they were charged with arson. Behind the scenes, fire marshals play a crucial role in combating arson. They not only investigate suspicious fires but also work tirelessly to identify patterns, apprehend suspects, and implement preventive measures. Fire marshals collaborate closely with local law enforcement, forensic experts, and community leaders to develop effective strategies that reduce the incidence of arson and its devastating consequences. Through thorough investigation and public education initiatives, fire marshals help communities understand the serious nature of arson and the importance of preventive action. Thank God for all the people who dedicate their lives to stopping criminals—and fires.

I sure hope you enjoy making your way through the stops and gathering the clues. You can learn more about me and all my books here on my site and on BookBub, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (X).

My newest release is the third novel in my Lake City Heroes Series – Serial Burn.

Here’s the back cover copy:

She’s out for justice. But the arsonist she’s tracking is out for retribution.

Now the fire marshal of Lake City, Jesslyn McCormick is determined to find the person who started the fire that robbed her of her family when she was just seven years old. As the twentieth anniversary of the tragedy approaches, a string of fires–including at Jesslyn’s church–brings up all those old feelings and offers new evidence.

Because church fires are considered a hate crime, FBI Special Agent Nathan Carlisle is called in to work with local law enforcement. Nathan has his own past–one he’d prefer not to revisit. And focusing on helping Jesslyn track down the arsonist is a great distraction.

As both the case and the chemistry between Jesslyn and Nathan heat up, memories will come flooding in from the past to bump up against hopes for the future. And when Jesslyn comes face-to-face with her worst nightmare, she’ll have to confront her fears and rely on Nathan and her community of friends in order to survive.

EXTRA PRIZE GIVEAWAY: I have a novella that was part of a collection called HEROES IN THE CROSSFIRE. Lynn H. Blackburn, Elizabeth Goddard, Lisa Harris and I wrote novellas that were about a spinoff character from one of our series. My novella was about Holly Cooper, the flight nurse from the Extreme Measures Series. The novella comes after Life Flight, which was book 1 in the series. I’d love to send you a digital copy. Just comment below and you’ll be entered into the drawing. No purchase is required. Just a comment to let me know you’re intrested in being entered into the drawing.

Novella summary:

Flight Nurse Practitioner, Holly Cooper, has an enemy who wants her gone from the hospital one way or another. She and her fiancé, Detective Andy McKittrick are “taking a break”, and a patient has died under mysterious circumstances. Life is complicated at the moment so when she’s attacked, her friends—and “on hold” fiancé come to the rescue. Andy may have his issues, but he’s never stopped loving Holly. When he hears someone is out to get her, he races to her side. Can they find a killer before the killer succeeds in sending Holly six feet under?
