Hey Everyone! Today is the day! {Picture me Snoopy dancing}.
It’s SINS OF THE PAST RELEASE DAY
Back cover blurb:
Three Novellas from Bestselling Authors
In Dee Henderson’s “Missing,” a Wyoming sheriff is called to Chicago when his elderly mother goes missing. Paired with a savvy Chicago cop, the two realize her disappearance is no accident, and a race against the clock begins.
Dani Pettrey returns to Alaska with “Shadowed,” introducing readers to the parents of her beloved McKenna clan. Adventure, romance, and danger collide when a young fisherman nets the body of an open-water swimming competitor who may actually be a possible Russian defector.
Lynette Eason’s “Blackout” delivers the story of a woman once implicated in a robbery gone wrong. The loot has never been found–but her memory of that night has always been unreliable. Can she remember enough to find her way to safety when the true culprit comes after her?
Just have to say, Dee Henderson and Dani Pettrey are amazing authors and I’m so honored to have my name on the cover with them.
On Dani’s blog, she’s giving away 3 copies of SINS OF THE PAST.

The Conversation
Sounds odd, but what about a funeral director? or maybe a teacher?
That would be a fun book to write! And I’ve written a couple about teachers in my Love Inspired books. A Silent Terror is actually about a deaf teacher at a deaf school. Thanks for stopping by!
US Marshals are my favorite characters. Love your books 🙂
Thanks! I wrote a couple of books about US Marshalls in my Love Inspired Suspense books. Protective Custody and Missing are two of them. Thanks for stopping by!
I enjoy various occupations in characters, but really enjoy teachers, archaeologists, and medical professionals in books.
I like my characters to be in law enforcement or private investigators. I especially love cold case books. Would love to win!!
I always LOVE anything related to the military, bodyguards, firefighters, police officers… so anything with lots of action! I love reading great character development, with a ton of well-written action! (which could be why Lynette Eason is one of my favorite authors!!!)
LOL. Well thank you very much! I appreciate you popping in here!
I like the lead characters that are forensic scientists that can solve crimes better than the police or federal agents. Or I like them to bookstore owners, especially vintage book collectors.
Oooh, now that’s an interesting idea. A bookstore owner who finds something in a vintage book that leads her to solve an old murder. Love it!
I usually like the characters to be detectives. I also like to see writers as characters.
Detective. I would like to see a chef in an upcoming book.
I always love a strong female lead. Lawyer, doctor, business owner. Unique occupations always captivate me, so I’d like to see something outside of the box. Maybe a chef, reporter, or psychologist.
Since I love mystery/suspense, I tend to like characters who investigate – police, detective, fbi, but I like it when my characters investigate but they shouldn’t because they aren’t professionals and are just every day people. Excited about this collection!
I just recently discovered your books, I have read 5 of them in two weeks! I love the characters. Detective characters are probably my favorite!
I really enjoy stories of ordinary people caught an extra ordinary situations. So may be a teacher, or somebody who works in an office?
I like stories with women lead characters in law enforcement.
I’m always interested in doctors, police, and lawyers. Quincy M.D. got me interested in the mix of medicine and mystery. So I’m trying to imagine an updated version with a female–sort of like Crossing Jordan or Rizzoli and Isles.
Ha! I like Mary’s comment with a funeral director. I do think that would be interesting too! Doctor or nurse would be fun. Or maybe a pastor. Can’t wait to read the new book!
A Pharmacist, and that is what I would like to see in the next book as well a Pharmacist that catches a Doctor over dosing a patient on purpose. I know a little nuts.
I work in a library and that would be a cool theme. Libraries are sometimes strange. I love all your books.
I enjoy reading from the detective point of you. I like getting inside the characters kind to try to figure out their next move to solve the crime.
I would like to see a story written next from the point of view of a CSI. We do not often get a lot from them in a story and I would love to see it explored how they piece together a crime scene to solve the murder.
Some of the occupations I like characters to have are detectives, forest/park rangers, antique dealers, and maybe a baker.
I love to read about characters with FBI, CIA, or detective type occupations. I’d have to say that’s my favorite.
Would love to read the book!
I like military characters and FBI/CIA and attorneys and paramedics as the heroes.
I love any character maybe law inforcment
Or detective
I enjoy characters that are US Marshalls, PI’s, Special Forces, etc. Love books by all three of you!!
I like the US Marshall/FBI twist. Or add in private eye with military special ops training. Love your books, can’t wait to read this one. Favorite authors in one book, it’s a win.
Medical examiner – amazing what a hair follicle alone indicates!
I love books with military, hockey players or cowboys.
My son and son-in-love are both in the Navy, so any military characters are intriguing to me. But LOVE to read anything you write!!!!
I love a character to be a doctor or in law enforcement.
I usually prefer when a character has a Criminal Justice related job, but I do also enjoy when they step out of that realm: scientist, writer, wedding planner, librarian…. So, excited to read this. Thanks for the great giveaway! 🙂
Some of my favorite books have been with law enforcement characters, but I also like the small shop owners, like antique shops, bookstores, etc. And anytime pets are involved, that’s always fun!
I like all of the ones you mentioned. Since I started my primary career as a computer programmer, I like to read about software developers. Although many characters use computers for research, communications, etc., I read one only occasionally about someone who works behind the scenes developing software, writing code, and so forth.
I would LOVE to win a copy of this must be amazing book!
I like when they overlap. I am a nurse and husband retired law enforcement/military. Some of my favorite story lines combine the two professions. I also like the series books where the main characters are in each book but each book focuses on just one. Thanks for continuing to write such wholesome, inspiring crime dramas!
Clinical social worker, author, first responders.
I’ve enjoyed books primarily about law enforcement and the paramedic/fire fighters. Those occupations have always been intriguing to me and love the stories these authors come up with!
Detective/ private investigator characters are my favorites. Might like to see a spy or hobbyist crime solver. I would love to win this book! I love your work. I try to read them all!
Forensic scientist or any kind of scientist. I’m a laboratory scientist and my job is almost like being a detective at times.
I love to read about the science behind crimes so maybe a forensics person? My son is about to go to college to major in Anthropology with plans to pursue forensics anthropology.
I love ones that work with horses bit perhaps a cop slash horse trainer
My favorites lately seem to be FBI or CIA agents.
Hmmm. It’s fun when they’re glamorous or high paying jobs but the ones that hit home more often are the more common jobs & incomes sonetimes! Maybe a receptionist or librarian. Iron worker is a good paying blue collar guys choice.
Let’s see – what about a choir director…at church?
Librarians, military, law enforcement are a bee favorites. I would like to see everyday people solving crimes. Maybe with professional help – but maybe not.
I’m a Human Resources Director and I would love to see a character who deals with HR. Oh the stories I hear from employees who walk in my office, some hilarious, some tragic and some downright scary.
I’ve always been fascinated by rescue workers, they have such an intense job but get the chance to save lives. Like Coast Guard para rescue. Also anyone of the First responders to Disaster situations. Like Red Cross workers or Trauma Counselors. 🙂
I really like the sheriff falling in love angles! Something about a man in uniform. Also like craft store owners and bakers!
I love any character in a uniform or any branch of government agency.
Detective is my favorite occupation. A spy would be great.
My favorite books to read lately are Christian suspense with U S Marshalls as characters in book.
I love the detectives, cops etc absolutely love your books!!
Psychologist, former military, criminal sketch artist…What is really like to see more of is a man being the one who gets captured and the female rescuing him, versus the traditional female in distress. 🙂
I’d love to see a book that had a character or characters using Hippotherapy with kids or the more mature among us!
You mentioned bull riders. I enjoy reading about crimes in small towns and ranch life.
I have loved all the books that I have read by you so far. I like books about detectives, FBI, Marshals, etc. Due to a life altering event, I have been spending time at the local community college as a returning student. I think it would be interesting to incorporate the local college into a story.
I just enjoy having a variety of occupations in books. I love learning about all the different fields that are out there. Law enforcement and the medical field are best for suspense, but I can relate better to the more boring jobs. I love when I come across a character with a less than interesting life that’s suddenly thrust into crazy situations.
A youth pastor…. a photographer… or grounds keeper or maintenance person for a large church (one that hears everything and knows a lot more than the people who dont really see him/her think)
I like the FBI/US Marshal characters in previous books.
I’d like to see various types of teachers, pharmacist, florist, chef, a veterinarian or other interesting occupations.
Soldiers, sailors and nurses! Firefighters too! They’re awesome too! Love a good suspense that ends well with twists in the middle you can’t figure out!
I like both ends of the spectrum. I love the ocean and the mountains. So Coast Guard and/or oceanographer; Forest ranger and/or fire jumpers.
A teacher or children’s minister or even a stay at home mom!
I love Detective characters best and would love to see a nurse.
I love books with military personnel, EMT’s, police, ect. Public servants that sometimes we don’t give enough credit to. Can’t wait to read this new book!
Behavioral Analysis, detectives, forensic scientists, crime scene investigators, military, too many to choose from!!
I enjoy when detectives are part of the main character’s story. An idea for an upcoming book is a US Marshalls. I’m sure whatever it is it will be as great as your other books!
A photographer.I had a brother who was one and know others now who are photographers.
I like ordinary characters whose lives intersect with the unexpected. I love the idea of bookstore owner (like Mystery Woman). Archeologists always capture my attention. I think a story on a photographer would be great – they are very observant and document everything. All this brainstorming is giving me some fun ideas!
Stories about doctors and nurses are a favorite of mine – also private investigators.
SWAT, military and maybe a crime writer reporter.
Anyone in the military are my favorite. I love all your books.
Although I haven’t met a character of you all that I haven’t liked…. & I really do enjoy the law enforcement characters…. What about the therapists/ counselors working with victims or the victims that overcome?
If the book includes a firefighter character, it is pretty much guaranteed that I will read it. Firefighters draw me in for some weird reason. My favorite book of yours is ‘When the Smoke Clears’. I could read that one hundred times!
Other occupations include paramedics and ER doctors. I’ve always been so fascinated with the medical field.
I would love to see more of those in the future. There is no doubt that I would read them and fall in love. 🙂
I’m super excited to read this book… My three favorite authors all rolled into one book is amazing! Favorite occupations I like him books would be counselor who ends up helping her hero, detectives, search & rescue, travel writer/photographer….can’t wait…have to stop writing…must go read this book!!!!
Law enforcement and judges are my favorites since I was a legal secretary and court reporter.
I especially enjoy police detectives or Private Investigators. Very much enjoy cold cases. BTW I love your books. You are one of my favorite authors.
I love reading about school teachers.
I love the “detective” characters…professional or not!-and the “who done it” story lines mixed with a little romance and growth of the main characters’ faith. Love Dani, Lynette and Dee! You girls are my favorites!!
Anything concerning law enforcement with mystery. Of course would be nice if female involved in solving crimes!
A musician would make a nice lead. 🙂
Either a teacher or an outdoor adventure leader would make great leads.
Happy release day!
I enjoy reading about characters with jobs I might not have considered much before. Like one of your books had a rodeo clown. That was a fun occupation to learn about.
My current work in progress has a female boxer. Boy, will I be doing lots of research!
Note: I don’t do Starbucks, so if I win, may we discuss other options on the gift card?
Blessings,

I love all the characters in your books. I especially like reading about those that serve in our military.
Since I am an accountant, I would love to read a story involving a forensic accountant. I am really looking forward to ready this novella. Thanks for the giveaway!
Since I am a teacher, I really relate to characters who are teachers…. But I also like to live vicariously through law enforcement professionals and people in the military!
I would love a book based on a Pharmacist or Pharmacy technician . All kind of room for trouble there!!!!!
I love a good attorney character, always have, but now that I am a legal assistant I love it even more!
The best occupation- mom 🙂
Love curling up with a good book on a cool Saturday evening.
I would like to read about a homesteader– a successful one with plenty of $ in some western state in mid 1800’s. Of course with a wonderful wife.
I like a woman dective
It has probably been done but I always like forensic stuff. I would like to read about that occupation for a character.
I especially like characters who are in the military, police, marshalls FBI etc.
As long as there are strong characters and a good plot, I am a happy camper. 🙂
Cant wait to read this book by 3 of my favorite authors!!!
Sometimes I like blue collar characters…maybe a hair stylist or a corporate desk jockey.
Maybe someone from the legal system–a judge or a court reporter. Love all your books. Can’t wait to read SINS OF THE PAST 🙂
Anything in the medical field. Also detectives, teachers, emergency personnel. I’m really not fussy! 🙂
I’m excited about your new book. To answer your question, I tend to write about doctors, so I’ll say doctors. 🙂
I love detectives and forensic scientists best! And maybe someone who just stumbles across a good mystery/crime and solves it on her own without formal training…just has a large network to help her get it done!
I like characters from Navy Seals.
I don’t know that I care as much about what they do, so much as what they “are”…strong, caring people!
I love any character with an exciting profession, although I’m pretty partial to u.s. marshals and forensic pathologists! 🙂
I always think it’s fun when writers make their characters’ occupations to be writers, editors, publishers, book store owners, etc. Also, FBI/CIA agents are on my favorites list.
I like anything but how about a teacher of kids who are deaf or hard of hearing. 🙂
Check out A Silent Terror and A Silent Fury. They have deaf characters and kids in them. 🙂
I love the occupations you listed above! But I think it would be cool to see a baker, Pastor or even a suspense author as a main character in a suspense novel 🙂
Really excited to read this collection!
I’ve recently read some novels where the crime solvers have been older women. How about a book where the main character is a pastor?
I enjoy the books about detectives, but what about a medical examiner??
I wrote one with an ME…:) Serena Hopkins in When A Heart Stops! Enjoy!
I love all of your and Dee’s and Dani’s characters. So intriguing. Lisa O’Malley with the petrified squid, Bailey Craig and the Alaskan historical shop, and Olivia Edwards the bodyguard are my favorites from you three.
Enjoy law enforcement officers, forensic scientists, and teachers. Really anything that keeps me guessing! I like it when characters have unexpected skills that help them outsmart the bad guys!
Anything you write about will be wonderful. I like cops and FBI agents, but those are not out of the norm. I like to see the inner workings of forensics, so a couple of my favorites were about the forensic anthropologist and the medical examiner. So behind the scenes forensics is fun!
What do I love? Your books! Can you please write one every day?
Haha! I wish I could! Thanks!
I love a smart rugged man. I’d like to read about a smart rugged detective that knows how to please a lady. lol
I enjoy the mystery suspense novels with strong female detectives as the lead characters. I also enjoy reading about various professions.
I enjoy the lawmen and doctors. I would like to see a teacher or a nurse.
I’d like to see more teachers as characters. But not elementary teachers. High school or college teachers.
I like reading books from all 3 of these authors! I’ve like all the characters occupations. I do like how they interact. Super excited to read this book.
A bed-and-breakfast owner at a lighthouse? I like lighthouses!
Detective or Doctor
I like law enforcement, military, or anyone that has a job that helps people: doctor, firefighter, etc. I really enjoy suspense.
I love stories with nurses, doctors, military, law enforcement, fbi, caregivers, authors, chefs,, single parents, teachers, ministers, characters in the bible, emt’s, Any of them would be great.
I love books with a law enforcement or military element – Dee Henderson’s books, your Women of Justice series, Dani Pettrey’s Alaskan Courage series, Irene Hannon’s inspirational suspense series… I love that glimpse into those professions while still getting to know the characters aside from their jobs. I’ve loved whodunits since I was a little girl watching Murder She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder with my mom. 🙂
I love the lead characters to be in law enforcement or cowboys 🙂 Bookstore owners are always fun too. I love books! It’s always interesting when the lead characters are in a profession that isn’t well known too – learning about little known careers is fun as well.
