Back cover blurb:

Desperate to save her dying mother, Rachel accepts her newspaper’s assignment to travel to Italy to capture images dangerously close to the front lines of WWII. Her real motive – to find the father she never knew — an artist she hopes can offer the comfort and support both she and her mother need to survive. It’s an unlikely situation for love and faith to flourish, but soon Rachel not only finds herself, but also her long-lost earthly father, and ultimately, the man her Heavenly father created to cherish and provide for her.

Lynette: Thanks for joining us today, Cara! It’s always fun to learn something new about some of my favorite authors and I know my readers enjoy it, too. So thanks for stopping by to answer these five questions and give away a book!

Cara: Thanks so much for having me today, Lynette. I love your books, so it’s fun to join you!

Lynette: I love that you love my books. I love yours too! LOL. Seriously, I’m honored and so thankful you were willing to take the time to answer these five questions so we can get to know you a little better.

So, without further ado: Here’s Cara’s favorite five!

  1. What’s your favorite television show? Hands down it’s Castle…though I’m super nervous about what will happen to the show with Beckett leaving. I just don’t know how you have the show without her. But I love the dynamics of the cast and the dialogue. Castle is just a fun character, too.
  1. What’s your favorite food? Something you’ve probably never heard of: Runzas. My parents have opened six stores in the franchise and currently own 4. When we go home to Nebraska, the kids and I want to eat there about once a day. It’s yumminess.

Lynette here: I found a definition of a Runza online and I have to say, I agree! That looks fabulous! Definition compliments of Wikipedia: “A runza is a yeast dough bread pocket with a filling consisting of beef, pork, cabbage or sauerkraut, onions, and seasonings. They are baked in various shapes such as a half-moon, rectangle, round, square, or triangle.”

  1. Where is your favorite place to write? Anywhere I can get the creativity flowing. Sometimes it’s a recliner that’s currently in our bedroom, or it’s my home office. Other times, it’s my local Panera where I can hide and write for several hours. The other place is my law office. I’ll go there when I’m not taxiing the kids around at night to grab some peace for writing. There’s zip to distract me there!
  1. What’s your favorite vacation spot? Friends of ours recently sold a cabin they owned in Highlands, NC. That was one of our favorite spots to hide as a family because we could unplug and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. We also love Mackinac Island, MI, for the same reason. It’s like stepping back in town when you go to the island. That might be why I wrote a book set there J
  1. What’s another favorite you’d like us to know? I love coffee and recently got an espresso machine which means I’ll never have to go to Starbucks again. But the crazy fact? I got through college and law school without coffee. Didn’t like the stuff. But Dr Pepper was my source of caffeine then. Now, I love one really good brewed mug of coffee a day. Yum!

Thanks for sharing, Cara! I’ve loved learning more about you–and about the Runza. I want one!

Readers, leave a comment about one of your favorite things and be entered to win!
