Hi Everyone, welcome to What-Are-You-Reading Wednesday.

I have to admit, I’m very particular about the kind of stories I read. I love to read stories that entertain, that keep me on the edge of my seat and in that wonderful breathless angst about what’s going to happen next to the character. Yes, I’m a thriller lover. A suspense lover. And if you throw a little romance in there, too, then I think you have just about the perfect story. I can’t stand horror. I draw the line there, but reading a good serial killer story that makes my pulse pound and my heart shiver with fear for the main characters is on my top ten list of favorite ways to spend my day. And of course it has to end on a happy note.  A book that ends well and leaves me satisfied will always have me coming back to that author for the next story.

And while I love the Christian element in most of the stories I read, I’ve found I can enjoy a few secular artists as well.

Some of my favorites are:

James Patterson with Michael Ledwidge. These guys have created some wonderful characters in Michael Bennett and his family. Sure, I don’t care for the language, but there’s a faith element there that comes through and I do like that. I love the interaction between Bennett and his children and Bennett and his grandfather, Seamus. Just great characterization.

Also, Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite thriller writers. I don’t care for her romance stories as they are too steamy for me, but I adore her thrillers.

I think Lee Child has some good ones and some not so good ones. When he writes a good one, he hits a home run so of course I have to read them all because I don’t want to miss the good ones! LOL.

So, how about you? What are you reading? Who are some of your favorite authors and why?

Right now, I have so many on my kindle waiting to be read, it’s a bit embarrassing. Unfortunately, I’m spending more time writing than reading right now. The good thing about that is that when I finally do make time to enjoy a book, I REALLY enjoy it.
